The Makers of Magic

MagicThe collaboration of Scott Graf, band director; Patti Anderson, music teacher; Joanne Sinerate, dance instructor and John Sinerate, retired teacher and present MMS assistant, has brought magic to the MMS stage.  From their first production of It’s the Seasons Charlie Brown in 2014, followed by Aladdin in 2015 and Seussical the Musical in 2016it was obvious that this talented group of educators are true difference makers.  The students who were involved in any of these productions reaped the benefits of their tutlege in countless ways.

A production of this magnitude requires total commitment, long hours and the ability to accept personal responsibility  and maintain self discipline. These attributes were modeled for the students by  our adult drama team.  The Mattacheese sixth and seventh graders participated in every aspect of the show.  They built and painted sets, manned the sound system and lights,  took care of props, understood the importance of teamwork and somehow miraculously became giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests, not to mention a stray elephant and rhino.

Thank you to the families who endured all of the above and , in the end, walked out of the auditorium with an overwhelming sense of pride at what was accomplished by their children.

The arts are alive and well at Mattacheese thanks to the dedication of four very special people, our students, their families and our community.  Thank you all.
